Here you can learn more about my cats and the other beautiful felines I have shared my life with. I’ve grown up with cats and can’t imagine a life without a furry friend!
SASKIA
Saskia is a 10 year old little girl who I adopted when she was 5 years old from a Sanctuary in Newcastle. When she arrived at the Sanctuary she was wearing a collar but nobody knew where she came from and her owner was never found. I was volunteering at the Sanctuary at the time, and when she came in she was so terrified she hid in a cupboard for two weeks and nobody saw her come out. One day when I was sitting in one of the cages giving cuddles to the cats, this little ball of white zoomed up to me and jumped on my lap looking imploringly into my eyes: “MEEEAAOOWW!” she said. She climbed on to me and stayed clinging to my lap until I left later that day.
The following week the little girl was still there and still obviously desperately unhappy being in the Sanctuary. I had been thinking about taking her home with me all week and another day of cuddles from the sweet little thing confirmed that there was nothing I could do about it – I had been picked, I was to be her new human. A few days later I took her home on the bus and moved into my shared flat with my three male house mates where she settled in wonderfully.
Five years and seven different houses later she’s still as happy as can be, and getting used to living with her new pal Azul.
AZUL
Azul is the newest addition to our furry family. He is a seven year old Burmese Blue, who used to belong to a good friend of mine, Jo. Jo unfortunately had to re-home his cats in late 2010 as he was working offshore a lot and they missed their Daddy terribly so Azul came to live with us.
- Fangs McGee
He is a sweet, loving boy with a voracious appetite! He has so much love to give and adores being played with. He’s the largest cat I’ve ever met though and tips the scales at 16lbs! He’s full of mischief and has the cheekiest grin complete with big fanged incisors peeping out.
- Big Blue
Azul and Saskia have been getting on remarkably well – they’ve been living together for some time now and are tolerating each other happily – most of the time.
SKIRLIE
Skirlie is an old lady who lives with my Mum and Dad in their home in Aberdeen. She is 16 years old and we’ve had her since she was a kitten. She’s living a quiet life these days and enjoying her old age on comfy seats and lolling in sunbeams, in between short trips to her dish for a snack.
- Beautiful whiskers
For a while, Saskia lived in my Mum and Dad’s house with Skirlie and her dear departed friend Haggis. We got Haggis and Skirlie as babies in 1995 and they grew up together into two beautiful cats.
- The Gang
Sadly Haggis passed away and crossed the rainbow bridge in 2009. He was a very handsome boy.
